Why is formula no dragging over correctly

I have this formula =$D$10*-1

Im trying to drag it across all columns in the same row but its copying the same formula to all columns as in D10 and not changing to E10 etc etc

Why is that?

You need to remove the first dollar sign.
=D$10*-1

It is very important to understand absolute, relative, and mixed range references in Excel (I am surprised you have been using Excel for as long as you have and haven't come across this yet).
