Word bug - formatting everything!

Hi

I am working in a word document and if I select some text to make it bold or present it as a bullet, it does it to everything in the document. If I press undo, it works (it formats only what I wanted it to) but it is driving me crazy!

Does anyone know how to avoid this?

Cheers,

Rich

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Hi Rich,

This is not a bug. It's an attribute that has been set for whatever Style you're using. If you select the problem paragraph and go into Format|Style|Modify, you'll find an 'Automatically update' option. Uncheck it and the problem will go away. Better still, learn how to use Styles - simply changing the formatting of different paragraphs based on the same style makes very poor use of Word's capabilities.

Cheers
