I have a created a chart with an x axis to show dates. I have values that have an x value of the 15th (mid-month) of each month from July 2008 to December 2010. The x axis of my chart shows a range from June 2008 to February 2011 with ticks at random equidistant intervals.

Is there a way to show only the actual x values of my data?

For reference:

Excel 2007
Chart Type: XY Scatter

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
I wasn't able to get the scrolling chart idea to work. I feel like there is a simple way to do this that I just can't figure out.

Sorry, not so sure what a simplier way means. Did you take a look at the demo on the link provided?

Based off of the sample demo, How does it not work for you? What do you desire?

Any way you can upload a sample workbook to a site like Box.net?

I was able to adjust the scale that excel chose. It seems the default was in days so I made the major unit 31 days and it came close enough to my chosen values. Thanks for the help!
