Hi everyone,

I have a very simple spreadsheet that looks like this:

Date StartedTime StartedDate FinishedTime FinishedHours
23/04/1806:0025/04/1806:0048
24/04/1807:0025/05/1809:00746
25/04/1808:00-1037168

The hours cell contains a formula that calculates the difference between two sets of date/time, eg =((C3+D3)-(A3+B3))*24
That works fine enough but what I want is to add an IF function that would first look at the date finished and the time finished cells, and if they are blank, it would return the hours passed based on the current date/time, and if they have data, then use the above formula instead.

Can anyone help me with this?

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
try

=(IF(ISBLANK(C3),NOW(),C3+D3)-(A3+B3))*24
