=IF(OR(G8=0,AB8>0),0,AB8)

g8 is N/a....AB8 is 0.....shouldnt the if statement produce 0? it's giving me N/A

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
N/a is not a zereo !!
If N/a is a possiibility, try
Code:
=IF(OR(G8=0,G8="N/a",AB8>=0),0,AB8)

so

=IF(OR(G8=0,ISNA(G8),AB8>=0),0,AB8)

or

=IF(OR(G8=0,G8=#N/A,AB8>=0),0,AB8)

Hi JP, are you getting 0 returned for a #n/a error in G8 with those formula?

ya not working for me...

yah, i know N/A isn't zero, which is why i thought the original formula would work.

in my original formula...i thought excel would be smart enough to decide that if g8 is NOT 0 (which means N/A falls into that category) OR if AB8 is NOT greater than 0, it would directly look at the value of ab8.

I get 0 from the formula if G8 is #N/A, or if G8 is zero, or if AB8 is > zero. I thought it was funny you'd want 0 if G8 is not zero, but that's the formula you posted.
