How do I make drop down lists in Excel?

I am trying to make a drop down list in excell so that I can use it to accumulate data for end results. How do I create the drop down list?

Excel Facts

Select a hidden cell
Somehide hide payroll data in column G? Press F5. Type G1. Enter. Look in formula bar while you arrow down through G.
list the data somwhere on the sheet that you want to use in the dropdown box

Goto Menu:

Data > Validation

Select Allow: List

choose your range or use a named range if you want the list on a different sheet.
