But nothing seems to work.

I've have a book that's linked to another (actually, it's linked two times). I've tried to change the source, but Excel isn't letting me. It states "Your formula contains an invalid external reference to a worksheet"

Does anyone want to save my PC from certain destruction?? I'm thankful for any help.

Click the italics "fx" icon to the left of the formula bar to open the Functions Arguments dialog. Help is displayed for each argument.
I get that quite a lot when I'm re-linking sheets. It usually means the file you're trying to link to is spelt wrong somewhere like there's a space that shouldnt be there, or an alien fullstop or something. Check the name thouroughly
