I am taking an Access course and can not figure out how to get the total number of transactions in a query. I have five months of transactions that I need just one month. I can get the one month by entering info in the criteria field for the date ordered but can not get a count of the total. Please let me know what else I need to tell you.

thanks in advance,
IbgreY

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
In your query design, click View -> Totals, change the "Group By" under the date field where you have entered your condition to "Where", add another field (e.g. document number or identifier etc), change the "Group By" for that field to "Count". Save and run. Useful page from Microsoft here

Andrew,

Thank you so much. It worked, of course you knew it would. No where in my book does it explain 'where'.

Thanks again!!!!!!
