Hi all, I am having trouble with a simple bar chart...

Its for keywords and has three columns:- keyword, average monthly visits, competition.

The graph shows the keyword on the left (horizontal category axis labels) and then a horizontal bar chart showing the average monthly visits (numerical amount).

The third column in the table (competition) simply shows low, medium or high for each keyword. So what I want to do is add this column to the chart so that it also shows whether a keyword is low, medium or high.

I've tried adding it as 'Stacked bar' chart, but the competition column simply shows 0 for everything.

Any idea's? Thanks!

Excel Facts

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
If you have Excel 2013, you can add data labels to the Visits bars, then use the Values from Cells option to populate the labels, and select the column with the competition ratings.

In any version of Excel, you can download and install Rob Bovey's free Chart Labeler from Welcome to Application Professionals to get the same functionality.

Otherwise you could add any labels and simply change the text of each to the desired label.
