Adding data to the data model in Excel 2016 - Pivot table

Hi All,

I have a pivot table which is linked to a data model ( meaning I selected the option "add this data to the data model" ).

Now, as my source data is linked to a SAP business warehouse dashboard and each week more data is added (more lines) I would need to add more lines to the data model. With a normal pivot table i would just click " change data source" and add another X-lines to the pivot table.

It seems with the data model it's not that simple anymore and I can't seem to find the proper way to add lines to the pivot table without Excel crashing or creating a new pivot table on top of the existing and giving me the message that a pivot table can't overlap another. This is weird as i ask to change the data source for an existing one...

So: How can i go from e.g: "Dashboards!$P$1:$Q$5" to Dashboards!$P$1:$Q$1000 for the pivot table linked to the data model.

Anyone?

Thanks!

Kim

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
I'd separate out the table with your data from the data model / pivot table file

Use Power Query to bring it in instead. Type =Excel.CurrentWorkbook() in a new blank Query. Choose your sheet and go from there. When choosing load make sure to select datamodel only when loading. Refresh all to update when you have new data
