Im working with an application using SQL.REQUEST to link to an Excel database.
To use this function the ODBC drivers have to be activated which are only available in Excel 2000. This makes it rather awkward to distribute the application to 'computer -illiterate' users using XP and office 2003 because they will have to install the ODBC drivers in the right directory which is quite a 'heavy' task for them....
Would it help anything if I transform the SQL.REQUEST query into a ADO-VBA code?. Or does ADO also come as an addin or extra installation feature with office XP and office 2003 in which case i'll continue to have the installation problem when sending the model to 'illiterate' users.
Any advise would be more then welcome!
