The BeforeDoubleClick event syntax is as follows:

Private Sub Worksheet_BeforeDoubleClick(ByVal Target As Range, Cancel As Boolean)


End Sub

I assume the Cancel argument is passed ByRef, so there's no need to write:

Private Sub Worksheet_BeforeDoubleClick(ByVal Target As Range, ByRef Cancel As Boolean)

Yes, the default is ByRef in VBA.
