border problem

i have 2 cells that i cannot change ( add right border ) to the cells. i have tried deleting all border and reapplying. same result.

If you protected the sheet as in your other thread http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/showthread.php?t=485131 you will need to unprotect it before changing the formatting.

Do the cells have conditional formatting applied to them?

I deleted all validations and then reapplied validation. then copied and paste special to remaining cells. it worked. dont know why but it did. thank you all for your responses
