Hey I have 49 cells which represent profits for different quorters, I need to find their average. It is said it should be less than 400000 per quorter. Plus, the 49th cell is blank, I need to find its value without affecting the average. Please help me?

Excel Facts

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
dont you just average the 48 values ? and use that for the 49th
then the 49 values should be the same average
Or am i missing something to the question

Not sure where the <400,000 would come in/from

perhaps put a sample sheet here - using XL2BB see menu / my signature

This is where I find it weird too. Using formulas only is required so I try finding one which will include <400000 as well (maybe averageif?).Obviously this is my first time using Excel, it's supposed to be really basic...
