Calling remote routine via macro

Hi,
lets suppose to have a connection (client server) to a remote system. Is it possible to call a remote routine via macro in Excel?
If yes, may you give me an example?

You can execute another program from Excel VBA via the Shell function. Here's an example from the VBA help file:

RetVal = Shell("C:\WINDOWS\CALC.EXE", 1)    ' Run Calculator.

and, one that I run in a macro:

RetVal = Shell("C:\Documents and Settings\Reports\Test Report Generator 1.exe", 3)
