Can you copy an Excel Chart and paste the chart into PowerPoint as a PowerPoint embedded chart?

Hi,

I have a presentation that I need to put together in PPT, and I've built all the charts in Excel. The problem is that I need both the chart and the data to live solely in PowerPoint (and be editable) without linking back to the original Excel file.

I'm trying to do this in either Excel/PPT 2003 or 2007.

Thanks

Hey Jack,

The problem with the methodology above is that it creates a link to the original excel document, rather than creates a self contained excel within PowerPoint. When it comes down to the finished PPT, it needs to be completed self-contained without an external link to any Excel file.

If you go to PowerPoint 2007 and go to Insert > Object > MS Office Excel Chart, you should see the exact type of chart that needs to be created.

Let me know if I am being unclear or if I'm misunderstanding something here.

Anyone else have ideas on how to get this embedded? The goal is to have a self-contained powerpoint that has all the charts and data that, which are modifiable within PPT, without the window be turned over to any other program. Think that PPT must always be the activewindow whenever you modify the charts in PPT.
