Can column A (column1) be somehow referred to as a variable? So instead of range(A1:B1) I could use (variableA,1 :variableB,1) or similar

Difference between two dates
Secret function! Use =DATEDIF(A2,B2,"Y")&" years"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"YM")&" months"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"MD")&" days"
Code:
Sub David()
  Dim vCol1 As Variant
  Dim vCol2 As Variant

  vCol1 = "A"
  vCol2 = "B"

  Range(Cells(1, vCol1), Cells(1, vCol2)).Interior.Color = vbRed
End Sub

Thanks shg!

A bit off topic but can I join this with a macro that searches headers (A1:B1) and assigns variables based on that header value (header with value 'abc' becomes vCol1, header with value 'xyz' becomes vCol2)?
