Hello, I have an excel file which I created back in 2010 and protected, probably with a password, i don't remember. It is an xlsx file.
I now have Ofifce 365 but I am met with the error
"This workbook is protected, and we couldn't connect to the internet to check your permission. Please try again when you are online".
I am online and connected to the internet. Anybody have any ideas?

Excel Facts

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
For clarification, I own and was the creator of this file. I just can't get Excel to offer me the chance to enter the password.

I can't get Excel to offer me the chance to enter the password. I tried open it with excel online. I get the error:

Code:
"We're sorry. We can't open the workbook in the browser because it uses these unsupported features:

• Workbook protection!

So from what it looks like, the way the workbook protection works has changed from 2010 to now and the newer excel programs cannot handle it?
