How can I use Select Case to determine whether a cell contains a date? For example, I am looping through the following cells:

Cookies
12/2/2015
Apple
Banana
123
Example

Rich (BB code):
Select Case testCell.Value
Case Is = "Cookies", "Apple", "Banana"
                    MsgBox "this is a food"
                Case IsDate ?
                    MsgBox "this is a date"
End Select

How can I accomplish this?

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
You can use the IsDate function to determine if value is a date or a string that can be interpreted as a date.

However you couldn't use it in your Select Case, it would need to be a separate If statement.
