Hi all,

I have a cell D30, this contains =sum(D1:D29) and shows a $ until values are added to D1:D29

How do I have it so the cell D30 is blank until values to D1:D29 are added?

Your help would be appreciated

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
On the home tab>>Number menu>>In the dropdown box change to either number OR General

do you see curly brackets { } around your formula?

In D30 right-click<Format Cells<Number<Custom and put in $#,##0;; Now you won't have $0 displayed without any data in the SUM formula.

Just re-read your post, did you mean ALL values between D1:D29?
