I want to change tab names based on text entered in cells in a row. The individual tabs are hyperlinked to the cells. The Tabs are named as Item #1, Item #2 etc
I require Item #1 tab to be changed to "VMS Roller/Thermal Rolls Reception" and so on.
Sample data is as under:
Item #1 VMS Roller/Thermal Rolls Reception
Item #2 DETTOL SOAP
Item #3 Gate Pass - Non-Returnable
Item #4 Gate Pass - Returnable

Thanks,
Vij

Format cells as time
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+2 to format cells as time. (Shift 2 is the @ sign).
What tab are you talking about? Are you referring to Sheet Tab name?

When you say:
Item #1 VMS Roller/Thermal Rolls Reception

Do you mean you want sheet(1).name to be:
VMS Roller/Thermal Rolls Reception
You cannot have a "/" as part of a sheet name.

And where are all these new names shown?

Worksheet tab name cannot be more than 31 characters and these characters are not allowed:
  1. \
  2. /
  3. *
  4. [
  5. ]
  6. :
  7. ?

The new names are in a sheet called "Stock Details" under column B and C with column B hyperlinked to Item #1, Item #2 and so on and column C referring to the proposed new sheet tab name like VMS roller etc.

The point about special characters is noted and will be rectified.

So are you saying in a sheet named:"Stock Details"
You have a list of names in column B starting in row(2)
So you want sheet(1) renamed to the name in Range("B2") of sheet named "Stock Details"
And so on down Column B

Now I do not know what you mean about Hyperlinks

I think he meant a hyperlink is created at each cell that once clicked you will be selecting respective sheet

That is probable true but not sure hyperlink is linked to what sheet. And if all sheets are now renamed hyperlink would now have to be modified.
If you can help out here that would be great.

It is still confusing. If you created a hyperlink to particular range in another sheet and then if the sheet name is changed the hyperlink will become invalid.
