changing text color based on input

i'm working on an if statement, and i want the font color to be red if the number is less than 0. here's what i have in human language. what's the excel language for this?

=IF(C8-D8<0, (C8-D8)font color=red), (C8-D8))

Use conditional formatting in C8 and D8.

CF - formula is - =C8-D8<0, then color red the font.
