How would I go about color coding dates in a column by how many days until it hits that specific date range (IE: 30 days, 60 days, 90 days)???

Also, is it possible to set up a macro or formula to color code dates by how many days past due from that specific date? (IE: if the specific date is 3/3/2011, and I want to color code that cell so it shows it is 30 days past due, and then also when it is 60 days past due and 90 as well)

Is it as easy as using IF statements and somehow implementing a color system inside that IF statement to show how many days past due?

Please help. Thanks

Excel Facts

Format cells as time
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+2 to format cells as time. (Shift 2 is the @ sign).
You can use Conditional Formatting. Example for date less than 60 days away.

Cells with Conditional Formatting
CellConditionCell FormatStop If True
A11. / Formula is =A1-TODAY()<60Abc

Hi there

I'm trying to use conditional formatting to highlight dates coming up in the next 60 days as YELLOW, next 30 days or passed as RED, otherwise to stay white.

I have made this work following the instructions in this thread, except where there is no date, the cells are showing as RED and I would like these to stay WHITE.

Could someone kindly advise me on how to do this?

Thank you. Dan

Hi - I seem to have got rid of the problem of cells with no dates showing as red by deleting the rules and starting again, but what I really want to do is colour cells red if the date is within the next 30 days OR in the past, and yellow if in the next 60 days (ie: >30 <60 days). Using the method above doesn't colour dates in the past.

Thank you. Dan

Try something like
=OR(A1< TODAY(),A1-TODAY()<30)<today(),a1-today()<30)< html=""></today(),a1-today()<30)<>
