can footer cells be formated with color? in any version of excell?

I think not, but you can place pictures in the headers and footers. So you could create a small graphic with the colors you want and place that instead.

can someone tell me the bones of how? do i modify the cell pattern before i enter the footer cell?

when you do a page footer, use the custom footer option and in the font section you can select the color.

thanks. however i was looking for CELL color.. fonts are easy.

don't think its possible.
