Hi all,

Probably a simple question, but can you use colour cells the same way you would have a drop down list using Data Validation?

Instead of selecting a cell and having a drop down list of data, I would like to select to highlight that cell in a certain colour in the same fashion

Thanks.

No, you cannot use color cells in the same way as a drop-down list using Data Validation.
One option though could be to use conditional formatting to automatically color the cell based on certain criteria, such as the value entered in another cell.
