Hello, can anyone help, I'm not sure if this can be done with Conditional formatting. I cant work this one out.
I have a range of different names in Column L and would like the cell next to it to change colour if the name in Column L is listed in Column W. Hope that makes sense.
Thank you

Excel Facts

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
How about
Excel Formula:
=COUNTIFS($W:$W,$L2)

Hello Fluff, thank you. If sort of works but is missing some out. Wonder if it is the way I am copying and pasting the formula down

What is the applied to range?

Not sure what applied is. I have put the above formula in M2 and used copy and paste all the way down (around 1000 rows) the list of names is in W3:W50.

You need to use the formula in conditional formatting, not in a cell.
