Conditional Formatting Dups in Row with Format Painter

I have about 30 columns with 150 rows. I want to find duplicates in each row (not column) I set up the conditional format to find duplicates in row 1. Now I want to use the same CF with the remaining rows, so I select row 1, click on Format Painter and then choose the remaining rows but the conditional formatting does not copy down and find duplicates in the other rows. Am I missing something?

then use a countif()

Home Tab >> Styles >> Conditional Formatting
New Rule >> Use a formula to determine which cells to format
Edit the Rule Description: Format values where this formula is true:
=COUNTIF($A1:$AD1,A1)>1

Format [Number, Font, Border, Fill]
choose the format you would like to apply when the condition is true
OK >> OK
