How can I formulate the expression in a conditional format to recognize error codes? I want cells with #DIV/0!, #VALUE!,etc. to be the same as the background.

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
I don't quite see how I can use that formula to affect the conditional formatting in the cell with the error.

Say the cells you want to format are A1:H20. Select this range and choose conditional formatting. Select the Formula is option. Enter =ISERROR(A1). Excel will adjust the formula for all the other cells in the range. Now, when a cell in this range contains an error, the conditioanl formatting will be applied.
