Need the COUNTA function to include/address the condition stated below.

=COUNTA(G10:G34)is to only count those cells where the posted value equals “R”…if all cells areblank, the recipient cell is to remain blank.

Help is greatly appreciated.

Excel Facts

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
If you have conditions on the records you want to count, take a look at the COUNTIF function.

How about
=IF(COUNTA(G10:G34)=0,"",COUNTIF(G10:G34,"r"))

Thanks...that works but I need to add one more condition. The count should only take place if cell R10 is not blank
