Copying cell from another page in order

Hello in F4 I am putting in a formula =[sheet2.xlsx]Dist10!$D1to copy a name from "Sheet 2" say D1. That works fine. On "2008 Invoice" page I am selecting lines 4 to 5 and pulling the down. Instead of pulling the next name D2 from "Sheet 2" and so on it is taking D4 and D7 and so on. What do I have to do for Excel to pull the next line from "Sheet 2"

if on 2008 invoice page
copy D4 and pasteit to D5

or Have I misundertood what you want?

I left off the "m" it should say pulling them down. I selecting lines 4 to 6 and just pull them down to repeat the lines, hoping the formula I entered in F4 would take the next line from "sheet 2" I am taking the name from "D3" and so on. What is happening is it is skipping 2 lines and taking the third name. I decided to just insert empty lines in "Sheet 2" so the lines correlates. Is there another way?

still not clear (it is no due to a spelling mistake)
do you want to copy the rows 4 5to 6 down. On rows 7,8,9.
that is not necessary
let us recast
1. you havae typed a formula in sheet named "2008 invoice …." in cell F4 a formula
=[sheet2.xlsx]Dist10!$D1
2. you want to copy F4 down so that in row no. 5 ithe formula will be
=[sheet2.xlsx]Dist10!$D2

am I right.

why not just copy F4 down as many rows as possibe
if you want other cells are to be copied I suggest

highlight A4 to L4 (that is the last column)
ediit-copy(control+c)
then select A5 and edit - paste (control+V)

mouse dragging sometimes gives problem because of need for correct pressure on the mouse etc.

Let me try again. Lets say I want to select rows 4,5 and 6 if I select them and drag it down 3 lines on lines 7,8 and 9 I would have a copy of rows 4,5 and 6.

All the information from A4 to L6 is one invoice and in F4 is the name of a customer I am taking from another sheet "Sheet 2". On "Sheet 2" lets say I have 100 names from rows 1 to 100. What happens when I select A4 to L6 and drag it down it is taking every third name, example the next name it takes is from row 4 from "Sheet 2" I want it to take the next name from "Sheet2".

Because when I drag down after I select A4 to L6 the next time the formula I entered in F4 is pasted is F7 so Excel is skipping rows and taking the row 4 instead of row 2 from "Sheet 2"

The way I was able to fix it was on "Sheet 2" I added 2 blank rows between every row. I was just wondering if there was another was besides add 3 row to "Sheet 2".

I hope I made it clear, I am not a long time user of Excel and I may not be using the correct words all the time.

suppse a,s,d are entered in sheet a1 a2 a3
in sheet 1 if you type in A1
=sheet2!a1
and copy in sheet 1 down a2 etc
and do the dragging what happens

now delete sheet 1 cells
now highlight sheet a1 a2 a3 copy(control+C) and select sheet 1 a1 and paste (control+V)
now what happens choose whichever you wnat
