This morning i tried to open a file that I've been using quite often. When it finally opened i got the message: Could not load an object because it is not available on this machine. I rebooted and retried, and got the same message. So, I e-mailed the file to another machine, and again i got the same message. When i use the file i always save-as and create a back-up. When i tried opening any of the back-up files, they too gave me the same message. I'd really like to know what happened and what to do to fix the issue. PLEASE HELP !

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
You don't specify what version of excel you are using. Have you recently upgraded or installed an update? Object not available errors can occur for a varity of reason. Have a look here microsoft help for object not found for some possible solutions.
