=COUNTIF($A4:$A44,B4) How do I copy that down, but make sure range remains A4:A44?

Hi. Right now I'm just trying to copy down this formula:

=COUNTIF($A4:$A44,B4)

All I want to do is copy down that formula, but I only want the "B" row number to change (and not the A4:44 range). I've tried with and without $ signs, thanks for your patience on what is probably ridiculously easy.

Thanks for helping out. I really appreciate your time and wisdom.
