counting with character in count if formula

i am using the formula for count if =COUNTIF(A$2:$A2,A2) but it is displaying number for result can it be alphabet

=CHAR(COUNTIF(A$2:$A2,A2)+64)
this will only work up to Z

COUNTIF returns a numeric value - it counts records that match your criteria. What kind of answer are you expecting?

i was using reverse count if and instead of numeric i wanted character thanks
