I have a column with 100+ web addresses in each cell. And Now I want to make them a active link. Is there a way to make the cells automatically a link?

I don't want to have to copy and paste each of the addresses.

in K1 I have http://www.msn.com but there in no link, how can I add the link.

Please don't tell me to right click and pick hyperlink, and type in the text, I might just cry.

TIA
Karleen

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
In row 1 of a spare column enter

=HYPERLINK(K1)

and drag the formula down as far as needed.

If it's of any use, this one will also make the link a friendly name based on the address in the original cell.

For example http://www.msn.com would be shown as msn, done by finding the 1st and 2nd "." in the web address then showing the text between them.

=HYPERLINK(K1,MID(K1,FIND(".",K1,1)+1,FIND(".",K1,FIND(".",K1,1)+1)-FIND(".",K1,1)-1))
