I bought my computer from dell last year and I have microsoft windows XP home edition. I am taking a spreadsheet class and I need to create a list from data, but I can't find the list button anywhere. Its supposed to be under data but i can't find it. I even went to the toolbar to add it but its not there. HELP

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
This is what I think you mean :)

Data > Validation > Select "List" from dropdown and specify range

create list

I tried what you said and this message came up The list source must be a delimited list, or a reference to a single row or column. I'm trying to select a1:h72

Right, it will not support the selection of multiple columns. You'll need to select just one column (such as A1:A72). You can recreate your entire list into the A column if needed.
