Date stamping

I need to create a test plan tracking tool that will keep a running date stamp history. I enter Pass/FAil when running the test, then stamp a cell with Now() to indicate when the test was run.

I need to be able to 1) keep a history of each time a test is run (w/o using the change history function of Excel - it's not a shared spreadsheet) by either copying the current cell value to another cell or keeping the current value of the cell if it hasn't changed.

Does any of this make any sense, and does anyone have a slick way to do it?

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.

You could tape a macro for selecting a cell and chancing the formula that it contains NOW() to a value, could you?

Sub dateandtime()

Range("A1").Select
ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "=NOW()"
Selection.Copy
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks:= _
False, Transpose:=False
Application.CutCopyMode = False
Selection.NumberFormat = "m/d/yy"
End Sub
