I'm able to create the value I need using a calculated column and the following formula:

"=LOOKUPVALUE([Total Volume],[Time],"YTD Dec 2014",[Location],[Location]"

I'm trying to create the same result for each record using the "Calculated Field" functionality to conserve space and not create a column for each of these lookups. Any help appreciated as always.

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
Can I just claim it is probably not needed instead?

Assuming you really need it (I mean, if you put Time/Location on rows/columns... your [Total Volume] will magically respond)... something like

=CALCULATE([Total Volumn], FILTER(ALL(SomeTable), SomeTable[Time] = "YTD Dec 2014" && SomeTable[Location] = SomeOtherTable[Location]))
