Hello,

I am having a problem when using access 2000 to open a excel file using excel 97.

I have some VB code that runs on startup when the wb is opened. It is opened from a sub in the mdb file. Everything works fine when myself or someone else runs it using excel 2002 but when a excel 97 user tries it does not run the code at startup.

Here's the trick if the 97 user opens the file directly without going through the .mdb file everythign works fine.

Any ideas anybody? Any help would be appreciated

Thanks,

Brad

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Should always use oldest version of Excel when programmimg.
Probably something in the code that XL97 does not understand.

normally I would use oldest version but all intended users were 2002 when it was writen. The code does work it just doesn't when the excel file is opened from the mdb file. Is there any difference if it is opened this way or if it opened from explorer?
