Is there a way to connect a directory to a spreadsheet so that when a file is added to the directory, its information (file name, author, date modified, etc) is added to the spreadsheet. I am looking to keep track of what all comes into a certain folder.
The following two programs are close to what I need:
Directory List and Print (Free download. Upgrade to Pro for more column options for $20. Unfortunately most of the options you want are in the Pro version.) Directory List & Print: print directory tree, copy to clipboard and export into Word or Excel.
Directory Lister Trial v2.02 (Pro version free for 30 days. Must purchase Pro rather than Standard version for $29 to export to Excel option.) Print folders in Windows with Directory Lister Pro
The problem with these is they don't seem to update the spreadsheet automatically (i.e. someone has to re-run the program to update the spreadsheet).
To reiterate I am looking for a program/technique that could automatically update an existing spreadsheet.

Thanks!
