disable keyboard

Excel Facts

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
The following macros will work with Excel 2000. Not sure if they'll work in 97:

' Macro to turn off keyboard entry.
Sub KeyboardOff()
' Sets CTRL+D to activate KeyboardOn.
Application.OnKey "^d", "KeyboardOn"
Application.DataEntryMode = True
End Sub

Note that the above macro is only applicable to the Active Sheet. If sheet is changed, keyboard operation is enabled

' Macro to restore keyboard entry.
Sub KeyboardOn()
Application.DataEntryMode = False
End Sub
