Drag a formula

Is there a shortcut way to drag a formula across many columns?

i.e drag a formula in A1 to AAA1

Copy the A1 cell. Then in the name box (the box right above the A1 cell, which should show A1 at this point), type A1:AAA1 and it will select that whole range. Then just paste the formula with Control-V.
