Drawing using macro does not always .. draw.

I am trying to run a macro to draw a number of bulletcharts as graphics (similar posting on the blog http://sparklines-excel.blogspot.com/)

The process steps through each instance of the formula, draws a shape that fits into the indicated cell, then further shapes are combined to produce the 'word sized chart".

The function is used maybe 12 times on one page, when a bulk update is run, often portions of the drawing are missed out. If the bulk update is run again (and again perhaps), then it eventually sorts itself out and works.

I am sure that the macro is running and stepping through each component, but the drawin process is falling over. Has anyone else had this experience, any idea how to fix? slow it down so it has time to catch up? or what.

Slightly confused by the randomness of the event, which is driving the me nuts due to complaints from site managers.

I wonder if that post even made sense!

Thanks
David
