Dropdown lists when two names in the list are the same

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
I was wondering if you could help me with excel dropbox issue. I am at present trying to build an invoice system for my wife, who is a secretary for a couple of consultant neurologists in the UK. My wife is ‘technologically’ challenged, so I am trying to do it so that she has as little input as possible. There will be a database of hundreds of patients, all information (first name, last name, address, patient ID and date of birth etc.) will do onto the ‘Patient Details’ worksheet via a userform. The patient last name is column A. The ‘Invoice’ worksheet has a dropdown list (cell B31), for the patients last name, (taking information from ‘Patient Details’), and will then populate various other cells on the ‘invoice’ worksheet, with address, date of birth and the Patient ID from the information on the ‘Patient Details’ worksheet. The problem I have is that there are many customers with the same last name, and this were I have the difficulty. Is there a way to get around this, either some clever coding, or if there is a duplication of last names, this would then allow access to a further dropbox, where the PatientID to be chosen, and this would then populate the correct fields with the correct information? I have tried the =INDIRECT(B31), on cell C32, where I have the PatientID listed, but I cannot get this to work, in populating to other fields. It would be difficult to use the PatientID as the primary search instead of the Patient Name, but it I think it would be OK as a secondary search, as the number would be much smaller. I would appreciate any help you could proffer, and my wife would be eternally grateful. Simon

Could you upload your workbook (without sensitive data) somewhere (maybe via dropbox)?
It's easier to find a solution when workbook sample is provided.

Sorry, I can understand that. I dont have a dropbox account, (I know that its probably unusual), but I am a newboy to all this. I know it's not the done thing, can I send workbook directly? There is no personal information on it now.

I need an explanation:
Why do you have 2 drop down "Invoice To:" and "Customer Details"?
They could be filled with different customer?

Sorry for the delay, but I had to rush off unexpectedly.
The reason for the two dropdowns is that the invoicing details may well be different to the patient details, but they need to have a link. So if the patient is paying, i would select the name in both dropdowns, but sometimes an insurance company may be paying, so select the insurance company in the top field, and the poatient detials in the bottom. this would populate the customer reference etc for the insurance company to be able to see who they are paying for.
I thought it would be easier that having my wife to have on database for patient & one for patient.

I understand that but we do have some rules which must be followed. The forum is a public forum, so as much of the information as possible must be available to the public. I did allow for the fact that you are new here, & hence pointed you to the relevant rules & implemented a warning only. Thanks for your understanding.
