Excel language settings

I wonder if someone can help me, I have a user who has winXP in French, and is also runnung office in the French language. Due to compatability issues with anothe application I need to run Excel ONLY in English. Can someone please tell me if there is a way to run the office suite in the French language and only have Excel configured in English. We are working with WinXp SP2 and Office 2002.
