Excel Pivot-chart data-labels formatting issues

In Excel 2010, I'm using several pivot charts to display several types of data. They are all basic column charts with the data labels at the top of the column. I want all of the data labels to be rotated 270 degrees (right click data labels > format data labels > alignment > text direction > rotate all text 270 degrees).

Here's where it gets weird:
I get all the labels rotated correctly, save the spreadsheet, close it, and open it again. Some (but not all) of the data labels have reverted back to their original orientation, while the others are still the way I want them.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance.
