Hello All

I am creating a monthly budget.

I'd like to have a new sheet for each month where ending balances from my leftover or overspent month in each month will carry forward to the new month the beginning balance.

Can a script be created for this to occur or will just doing a manual copy and paste of each sheet be the easiest to go about this?

Excel Facts

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
It could be done with formulas depending on the format of your budget sheet. If each sheet has the ending balances in the same row it could be done pretty easily with the INDIRECT function to determine the name of the previous sheet based on what month it was.

The best practice is to keep all your data on one sheet then a lot of this problem just goes away.

I agree I have a single worksheet with all my income and expenses.
With the correct formulas you can instantly see total income and expense per month or per year or last 10 years. Doing this when you have a different sheet for each month can make things difficult down the line. And I can see how much I spent on Gas or electricity if data is set up properly.
