Excel slow, Excel calculating threads ...%

My excel file is having 6 sheets.

Each contains about 300 columns and 1000 rows.

Sheet1 is data sheet where manual inputs are updated and rest 2 to 6 sheets are updated based on vlooklup & match formula linked to sheet1 all of 300 by1000 cells.

Whenever i update sheet 1, say i copy cell a2 and paste in a3 to a10, excel shows message at bottom right saying calculating 8 threads showing percentage and such small copy paste job takes about 1 minute to complete.

Requesting members to help me resolve the issue.

If your data has zip codes, postal codes, or city names, select the data and use Insert, 3D Map. (Found to right of chart icons).
Do you have any volatile functions? Lots of Conditional formatting? Does it work better if you first switch to Manual Calculations?
