Excel to detect fraud, waste and abuse

Has anyone used Excel to create fraud waste and abuse detection for pharmacies? Would be interested in any queries that you've developed.

Excel Facts

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
you might try some basic quantity analysis, 1 tonne in = 300,000 of something and allow 1% either way, and see if you parameters are off by a large margin, packaging used is a good indicator of output
