Excel Facts

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
Re: "extra credit". don't hate me for my humor

all workbooks or just that one? excel window or the workbook within the application? what happens when the window is maximized? any addins - normal or com?

Re: easy one, thank you: =SUM()

I may not be of much help on that, but my first thought is a beforesave event.

If you are unsure if there is code
Alt + F11 Open VBEditor
find your workbook at left on the tree
find thisworkbook
within thisworkbook module would be the beforesave code.

If no code then I got nothing.
Glad to catch up with you again-

a mind of its own...

Tracy-- Well I only have 1 sheet in that .xls, but yes, if i create another sheet in that .xls, and save with or without changes from either sheet, it moves the .xls to the upper left of my screen. To answer your other question, it does this whether or not the window is maximized Thanks. Rman-- Thanks so much. I went thru that maneuver, and indeed, no code in the general declarations of thisworkbook. Thanks though.

Not other workSHEETS but other workBOOKS - other xls files.

Re: easy one, thank you: =SUM()

Then is sounds like an addin - normal or COM. Try starting Excel in Safe mode

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/280504

Then, do your save. Tell us what happens.

and I I'm going to separate this out to a new thread. You really shouldn't mix things

Excel "on the move"

No. I went to that link, and tried the safe mode start for Excel. The problem was unaffected. Every excel file I save (with or without changes) moves to another location on screen after close. No other files behave this way.
