fill in the column with MATCH or LOOKUP?

hi, i'm trying to fill automatically the column AX base on column AW. So the first value of the column AX should be the first value that it is different from the previouse one (i don't if this makes sense...sorry). it should be something like this:

I assume that is the "after" picture (you desired outcome).
Can you show us the "before" picture (what it looks like initially)?

Excel Formula:
=XLOOKUP(TRUE,(AW2:AW1000<>AW2),AW2:AW1000,"")
